Jaime + Michael
Candid and Fun Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding with Live Mariachi Band and a Vintage Trolley
I habitually tell my husband that if we weren’t already married we would be getting married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse! Our wedding bells may be done ringing, but recently I got to live vicariously through Jamie and Michael, as they tied the knot in the breathtaking Santa Barbara Courthouse Mural Room, then paraded down the street to El Paseo for a lively wedding reception.
Hotel Californian in downtown Santa Barbara housed the bride and groom as they got ready to say "I do". Jaime zipped into a stunningly simple white dress with wrist length sleeves and an eyelet lace bodice while Micheal pinned a gold detail to his boutonnière which perfectly matched Jaime's gold floral hair pins that pulled some of her wavy blonde strands out of her face. Her sweet friends toasted with their jewel toned wine goblets while helping Jaime attach her grandmother’s wedding day broach to her bouquet sash, the perfect detail blending tried and true love with the sweetness of new commitment. They had a heart warming first look against the white pueblo walls and contrasting mosaic tiles. Micheal may have shed a few tears, in awe of his beautiful bride, which Jaime sweetly wiped away with a kiss and a tender smile.
A vintage red trolley carried the bridal party to the wedding where, after a few formal photos, the couple stole away for a moment alone as their guests filed in to the pews in the warm toned, colorful courthouse, awaiting the start of the ceremony.
Jaime and Micheal wrapped around one another for one last moment of golden sunlight and sweet anticipation. Time seemed to freeze just long enough to commit that stunning, private moment to a forever memory through the haze of the yellow beams filtering in the cathedral window.
The stunning murals were the perfect backdrop as a live guitarist strummed the sweet tune that brought the bride party and the gorgeous bride herself down the aisle. Jaime and Michael spoke their own vows to one another that they wrote together to share with their guests, chalk full of sweet stories and the forever kind of promises that will carry them through every high and low ahead of them. The crowd laughed and teared up as one as this couple vowed to share their lives from that moment forward.
After the kiss that proclaimed them husband and wife, the newlyweds led the procession three blocks over to El Paseo where a lively private reception with full mariachi band awaited them! Lush greenery, a gorgeous stone water fountain, twinkle lights, and tall white candles were just a few of the details that made this reception a vision of beauty! Lively dancing, churros all around, and a killer skinny tuxedo Jaime changed into were the kind of details that made it a full on party! Cheers to Jaime and Micheal, a perfect wedding from start to finish, and many years full of all the sweetness, joy, and life that their day exuded at every turn.
