One Year Wedding Anniversary Celebration at the Rosewood Restaurant in East Austin, Texas

Family + Friends Gather to Celebrate One Year of Marriage with Artisan Appetizers, Drinks, and Dancing in a converted Victorian House restaurant in Austin, Texas

Like so many couples, the 2020 pandemic pivoted Olivia and Mitchell’s wedding celebration plans. Unable to have their original wedding as planned, Olivia and Mitchell held a small gathering on their original date at Rosewood ATX to celebrate their marriage, and saved their larger celebration for a killer one year wedding anniversary party!

Olivia and Mitchell rented out every room of the Rosewood Restaurant, a converted victorian house that features small spaces for enjoying culinary delights on the incredible East side of Austin, Texas. It has gorgeous wood interiors, shiplap, modern art, unique lighting fixtures, and the most incredible flamingo wallpaper in the bathroom that begs for you to take a selfie in front of it. As am homage to their original wedding, Olivia and Mitchell had framed photos from their original intimate wedding and a projector playing their wedding day video on loop against one of the shiplapped indoor fireplaces.

They brought in Rosewood’s amazing chefs who served small bites carefully curated and designed onto small plates and platters. They had signature cocktails as well as an open bar, adorned with stunning bright florals. Every staircase leading up into the house was wrapped with green, leafy vines and cascades of flowing rose petals. It was very romantic and added to the beauty of the venue!

As Austin, Texas can be rather unpredictable with weather, a white tent was brought in for their reception in case the clear weather didn’t last. Under their tent was a full size black and white checkered dance floor illuminated with string lights. Olivia and Mitchell shared a first dance together, gave a thank you speech for their guests, and then everyone danced until it was time to leave for the evening.

One of the most important part of the day for Olivia and Mitchell was to celebrate and gather with their friends who weren’t able to participate in their wedding day the first time. Their entire celebration felt like one long and lovely dinner party/cocktail hour with a splash of reception dancing! They booth stood at the gated entrance to their venue and welcomed each individual guest as they arrived with hugs and hellos! Olivia and Mitchell got to enjoy rewearing their wedding outfits, catch up with friends, and be surrounded by those they love on their anniversary. I cannot think of a better way to ring in one year of marriage together than that!

Cheers to you both and on your many years together ahead!
