Maya + Gabe: Editorial Couples Photos at the Picnic House Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York

New York feels like the most editorial and fashion forward of all US cities. I am not sure if it is my love for all things Gossip Girl and Sex and the City - associating the streets with the likes of Blair Walddorf and Carrie Bradshaw, two women who always knew the importance of an outfit and accessory - or if the juxtaposition of fashion against the urban environments making Vogue visions come true. Wherever the inspiration comes from, shooting in New York naturally brings a feeling of elevated fashion and extra editorial flair.

As a destination photographer coming from Southern California, I met Maya and Gabe, a couple living in Brooklyn, NY, near the Picnic House in Prospect Park, Brooklyn in early August. Together, we were inspired by a mood board designed around 1960s color palettes, summer love, fall fashion editorials, Vogue classics, and street photography. Maya and Gabe perfectly found the balance between the feeling of a true editorial moment and a joyful and candid of two people in love. This couple’s photoshoot in Brooklyn felt like going on an evening walk through the park.

Sharing the evening at Prospect Park, Maya and Gabe donned two different styled outfits. The first consisted of long denim skirts, button ups, tall boots, and eclectic capsule pieces, while the second look embraced a softer style of colorful collared knits and Ts.
