Megan + Sean: Parisian Cafe and Louvre Museum Engagement Photos in the City of Love, Paris, France.

Sean wanted a change and moved to Paris, France in 2022 to attend Le Cordon Bleu, a renowned culinary school, famously attended by Julia Child. His then girlfriend, Megan, decided she also wanted a change and moved to Paris with him while he worked on his culinary training! The both of then enjoyed months of living together in Paris, before taking a trip to the north of France when they got engaged! As the summer of 2023 approached and Sean was getting closer to graduation, I was able to meet these two in Paris, France - the city of love - for their engagement photos! Capturing their engagement photos in Paris was going to not only be picturesque, but also incredibly sentimental for this time of their lives where they had the chance to experience this incredible adventure together!

Our afternoon in Paris began in the Fourth District of Paris, France, also called Le Marais, and is known for being one of the most fashionable and trendy neighborhoods in Paris. The 4th District, or 4th arrondissement, encompasses the neighborhoods to the north of the Seine river, as well as the two small land parcels that sit in the Seine, holding the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and other sites. The bridge and street, Pont Louis-Philippe links the Île Saint-Louis to the right bank, and is where Megan, Sean, and I began to capture our perfect afternoon together in the City of Love.

The Pont Louis-Philippe as a lovely place to go as the bridge itself is beautiful, the foot-traffic isn’t quite as busy as the bridges across the Seine River in the 1st District, and the views down the river of the buildings lining the river banks are so beautiful and ornate. We enjoyed the bridge as it lead us down to the Seine River Bank.

When I think about lovers in Paris, the first image that comes to mind are couples sitting with their legs draped over the edge of the seine river together. As an homage to this iconic image, Megan and Sean walked along the Seine River banks too, dancing by the edge of the river together for a moment or two.

The second image that comes to mind when I think about lovers in Paris are two individuals enjoying time at a cafe together. Just across the bridge of Pont Louis-Philippe is La Chaumière, a cafe on a street corner with perfect views for people watching as you enjoy a cafe, chaud chocolat, or vino for an hour or two. Megan and Sean opted to enjoy an Apperol Spritz!

After sipping their cocktails at the La Chaumière cafe, Megan and Sean slipped out of their first look and into their second: formal two and three piece suits for the both of them! I loved Megans cropped mini-white vest with blue sneakers that paired perfectly with Sean’s blue suit!

We took the Metro a few stops over to the First District of Paris France to continue their engagement photos in a more formal and luxurious way - using the very royal, historic, and elegant backdrop of the Palais Royal and the Louvre Museum.

We wrapped our afternoon up at the Louvre, where Megan and Sean got to capture some photos together in a recognizably iconic Parisian location. It was important to Sean to have photos that were in this spot as a way to remember their time in Paris together while he attended Le Cordon Bleu and their engagement in France.

It was such a special session for me to photograph, getting to show two sides of Paris in one afternoon!
