Chloe + Morgan: Modern Editorial Style Engagement Photos in a DTLA Daylight Studio Loft
Engagement photos in a DTLA daylight studio loft or an editorial featuring your favorite brands of denim? Perhaps both may be true with this one, but the style of making your engagement photos outside the norm and slightly, dare I say, “unromantic,” is a vibe I will not be letting go of anytime soon.
Chloe and Morgan’s photos took place in a DTLA daylight studio loft near the Arts and Factory district. Somewhere amongst the hustle andd bustle of the packing houses, factories, museums, breweries, and colorful street murals done by local artists is this incredibly bright and serene studio space. It is a space I have come to love and have grown even more fond of after my time spent there with Chloe and Morgan.
Their engagement photos feel like a mix of so many things, such as an editorial for Levis - shout out to 501 flare jeans, but most of all it feels like a perfect blend between both individuals exuding “Main Character Energy” while also being perfectly smitten wrapped up in one another’s arms.
One of my favorite features of shooting in a studio space is unlike other locations like beaches, parks, or scenic overlooks, the only thing to focus on in a studio is the couple, their body language, and how you can tell a story of two people without relying on props or location to do so. I love the use of negative space to bring attention straight to the couple and not only that, but how each little nuisance can be noticed when there is nothing else to distract a moment.
Without further ado, congrats to you Chloe and Morgan. You babes make me want a Canadian tuxedo look in my closet ASAP.
